RACING: Autumn Lake Sprint Triathlon

RACING: Autumn Lake Sprint Triathlon

Fun race organized by @williamstown_badgers_tri_club

This race is literally located in my town, so I had to do it!

It was a nice warm up for 70.3 Atlantic City coming up in September.
And it was a nice way to test and introduce our brand new kit to the triathlon community!!!

The swim course is one of the nicest one you will find in New Jersey, it is in, what I believe, a man made lake. The water is always clean and warm at this time of the year.

The bike course is short and easy, it is pretty much a a straight line to a turn, then another stewing light to a turn around, and then come back the same way.

The run course is a trail run in the winery field, it is pretty flat and the trails are well maintained, so the risk of twisting a ankle is low.

After a short swim warmup, we started the race around 7:30 with the 0.4mi swim, I came out of the water around 50th, but then I put the power down the bike leg that brought me to top 5. Then I maintained a good pace in the trails to come down to top 3.

I finished 3rd overall, 2nd men overall and 1st in my age group.

It was nice meeting up with new friends after the race and talk about theplantedathlete.com

The new kit was a success!!! It felt perfect in each race discipline, and it was a big eye catcher with a lot of compliments!!

Funny side story: my wife Erin was not supposed to come to the race but as I was coming back to transition from the bike she was cheering me on. So I was telling myself ohhh what a great surprise!!!!

But what really happened is, when I took my bike off the rack my Garmin sent her an incident alert 🆘 so as she was worried, she hurried and drove straight to the event to make sure I was alright.

Thanks Garmin 😂
