How to set your mind for success.

How to set your mind for success.

Sometime things in life may seem too big of a bite to swallow.

We tend to focus on the finish line and be overwhelmed by the hard work to get there instead of breaking down the journey to more manageable bites.

Endurance sport and triathlon definitely forge your mindset to think in a different way, in way where you work a problem piece by piece instead of the end goal:

Athletes starting the 2022 Ironman World Championship race with a swim near Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

The first part of a triathlon is the swim, when you race a half or a full Ironman the distances of 1.2 or 2.4 miles of swimming could be overwhelming. But it becomes way more manageable if you forget about the finish line and only focus on getting to the next buoy, and the next one, and the next until we reach the exit of the swim.

During the bike and the run, we follow the same principles by focusing on getting to the next aid station, and the next, and the next, …

Once your train your mind to section your journey to cross your finish line, you can accomplish anything!
